The Ergonomics of Being Fat : Making The Task Fit You

Remy, a fat white babe poses with a plywood penguin that's just a little shorter than her. She is wearing a colourful House of Boom skirt

Remy’s talk is a taster into the world of ergonomics, featuring real-world examples of how you can modify the space around you to fit YOU better.  Ergonomics is more than just setting up your desk right at work (though we’ll talk about that too – and how to get your employer to accommodate your needs). Our personal surroundings should support us and support the tasks we want to engage in, not the other way around!

Meet Remy

Remy Goldbao is an Occupational Therapist, originally from California. She completed her Masters in Occupational Therapy at the University of Southern California in 2011 and has since worked in rehabilitation settings both inpatient and in the community. She fell in love with Aotearoa on her honeymoon in 2019 and moved here in 2021. She currently resides in Lower Hutt with her husband and their beloved cat, Neil Armstrong.  She is taller than the prehistoric giant penguin at Te Papa (though not by much).
